After years of wondering what a crumpet was, I finally found out in Seattle, of all places. The Crumpet Shop is pretty famous and has a street entrance on First Ave, so no hills to climb or go down to eat here. I got the smoked salmon cream cheese with fresh cucumbers, and it was light but still filling. Plus, endless tea and coffee refills! My boyfriend got a bowl of groats, which he liked – he did say it was a bit sweeter than he expected, so next time he asked them to skip the brown sugar. I'd totally recommend people stop by here if they're near Pike Place. A lot of other places get all the attention, but this spot deserves it just as much.

I tried their autumn special crumpet - with apple butter and cream cheese(?). I don’t think there was any cream cheese though. Only later I learned Americans apparently call apple purée apple butter. Crumpet itself was nice, but would I paid for this $9.10. ABSOLUTELY NOT. I intended to use cutlery, but was not possible as the bottom of crumpet is… not burned but very… crunchy. Metal knife was not able to cut through it, so I gave up. I appreciate the service and atmosphere. They take cash, but no change.

I’ve been to Pike Place market many times, but this was my first time stopping at the crumpet shop. I have definitely been missing out! I ordered the Vermont with a small Matcha latte and it really hit the spot after a long drive from Portland. The staff seemed super cool, too. I can’t wait to come back and try a different crumpet!

Crumpets are so very good and yet hard to find in the US. This place is a treasure! Their menu features a huge variety of savory and sweet crumpets. I ordered a Vermont, and it was divine. Along with that, I had their shop tea blend, which was quite good—milder than Earl Grey, and refreshing to start the day. Be aware that there is little seating inside. There may be a line, but they prepare the food fast.

This place is a "must go" when we're in Seattle. Crumpets are sort of like English muffins, but thinner. The variety of choices are wonderful, sweet, savory, or spicy, and everything I've tried has been superb. It's not too much food, but it's worth it, plus you can walk around the market and have room for something else too! Seating can be limited as it's a smaller dine in space, so keep that in mind. Thankfully since it's not a ton of food people are ordering, the seats open up quickly even if the place is full when you arrive.

It’s a cute and small coffee place! I luv it! Crumpets are known as a classic British griddle cake made from a flour and yeast batter with a spongy twist. I chose the one with the Nutella topping. This was my first time trying a crumpet, and I was amazed by its texture and taste—with a little bit of savory notes along with the sweetness. The Earl Grey tea was also nice.

Absolutely the best breakfast ever! I had the egg, ham, and cheese crumpet, a large bowl of Grouts with currants, steamed milk, honey, and walnuts. The Grouts were amazing and the crumpet was in a class of its own. I also had the fresh made lemonade. There are plenty of stools along the wall inside. I could tell this is a favorite the locals. Well worth a try as it’s a short walk from many of the downtown hotels.

First crumpet in my life and it doesn’t disappoint! Yumm! Grab the unlimited tea refills too and pause to enjoy the experience. I ate the basic butter and honey crumpet. And had 2 refills of tea as it was delicious and I was thirsty, haha. I’ll be back!
